QUICK REVIEW
1. Subjects and verbs must agree in number. Both must be singular, or both must be plural.
2. Many plural nouns end in –s, but some plural nouns also have other endings.
3. Some singular nouns end in –s. A good technique is to find the subject and decide whether it is one thing (singular) or many things (plural). Then match the verb to the subject.
4. Third person singular present tense forms of verbs end in –s and should be matched to singular subjects.
5. The singular subjects that need a verb ending in –s are any subjects that can be exchanged for he, she, it, or one.
6. The plural subjects that need a verb not ending in –s are any subjects that can be exchanged for you, we, or they.
